BENEFITING SCHOOL MARKETS

The Food Bank’s School Market Program is an increasingly effective way to feed families and allow children to play, learn and grow without anxiety about their next meal.

Unlike the Buddy Pack Program which sends pre-packaged, single-size meals home for the weekend, School Markets provide larger packages and items for choice-friendly, family-style meals. Students and families select the items through confidential communication with school staff members.

PLAN OF ACTION

Designated Collection Sites gather resources that go directly to schools near you!

Join the fight against hunger by stocking School Market shelves with nutrient-rich, non-perishable food items.

MOST VALUABLE FOOD ITEMS:

  • Boxed meals such as pasta and soup

  • Canned fruits and vegetables

  • Canned protein such as meat and beans

  • Peanut butter

  • Cereal

*No glass containers please.

*Low sodium and low sugar items are recommended.
